MAGIC JOHNSON PARK

The purpose of his project was to gain experience in designing an urban park in a complex setting. The Magic Johnson site is a brownfield site located in South Los Angeles on a former Exxon Mobil oil tank farm, also once a public housing project site, adjacent to Phase I of the existing Earvin Park, in renovation.
Requirements included LACMA, Natural History Museum, Youth Orchestra choir, an amphitheater, shared parking, event space including room for food trucks, environmental educational component and vehicular circulation.
